Martinsville PD: Woman stabbed during robbery, fight with juvenile

A 45-year-old woman was stabbed during a domestic fight and robbery that involved a juvenile in her own home, according to police.

The fight ended up with 45-year-old Virginia Browning being robbed and leaving her with multiple cuts and a stab wound. 

Martinsville-Henry County 911 received a call around 11:54 a.m. on November 5 that Browning had been stabbed at her home on Misty Hill Drive in Bassett, Virginia. 

Browning was taken to the hospital. 

Police believe the stabbing was a domestic altercation. 

The juvenile has been charged with malicious wounding and robbery, both charges are felonies. The juvenile is being held in the W.W. Moore Detention Center in Danville. 

This incident remains under investigation. Anyone having information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at 276-638-8751 or Crimestoppers at 63-CRIME (632-7463). The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $2500.00 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
