Martinsville man charged in connection to shooting of 17-year-old boy

A Martinsville man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old teen. 

According to police, 21-year-old Joshua Lane Wisener turned himself in on February 12. 

He is charged with malicious wounding, robbery, grand larceny of a firearm, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony.

He is being held without bond. 

The sheriff’s office released the following statement: 

“The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the media outlets for their help in keeping the community aware of the need to apprehend Wisener. We would also like to thank the citizens who called in tips about this incident.

Anyone having information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 638-8751 or the Crimestoppers Program at 63-CRIME (632-7463).  The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $2500.00 for information related to crime.  The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.”
