BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A hit-and-run investigation is underway after a vehicle struck a young man walking along a highway median in Bedford County early Saturday morning.
According to Virginia State Police Public Information Officer Richard Garletts, 21-year-old Hunter Dillon Noel of Bedford County was walking west along the grass median of Route 460 around 5:19 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8 when he was struck by a Ford work truck traveling in the left lane.
Authorities say the hit-and-run took place near the Moose Lodge, less than half a mile east of Route 681. The vehicle involved is a white Ford F-250 or F-350 manufactured between 2008 and 2016, according to Garletts. The vehicle reportedly sustained damage to the driver’s side mirror.
Garletts says the pedestrian, Noel, was taken to Bedford Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Virginia State Police released a video recording of the incident captured by a nearby security camera.
