Man arrested after late night shooting in Martinsville

The Martinsville Police have arrested a man in connection to a late night shooting. 

Police arrested Rashid Hakim Martin. 

He is wanted on multiple charges including malicious wounding. 

Here is the full press release: 

“On November 25, 2018 at approximately 2:27 am, the Martinsville Police Department was notified of a shooting that occurred in the 900 block of Royal Dr. The victim, Tyrel O’Bryant Coles, 29, of Martinsville was taken to SOVAH of Martinsville then transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Investigators processed the scene for evidence and interviewed witnesses. During the investigation, Rashid Hakim Martin, 22, was identified as a suspect. Martin was arrested and charged with: Malicious Wounding, Use Firearm in Commission of a Felony, and Maliciously Shoot in an Occupied Building. Martin is being held without bail in the Martinsville City Jail.
