Lynchburg’s new initiative to lower non-emergency 911 calls

Due to an increase in non-emergency calls, The Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services is launching a new campaign called “Who ya gonna call?” 

The campaign gives people resources other than 911 to call for help. 

They also explain what is a 911 emergency call situation versus a non-emergency situation. 

Experts say you want to call 911 when there is an active crime being committed or when life or property is being threatened.
