LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — After a three-year-long investigation, the Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) says detectives have made an arrest in a child death investigation from 2020.
On January 23, 2020, around 10:40 a.m., officers were called to the Brookside Apartments for reports of a child not breathing. Investigators say the caller and first responders attempted life-saving measures, but the child passed away.
During the investigation, detectives determined that reckless disregard for human life contributed to the child’s death.
39-year-old Brandy Lynn Parker, from Lynchburg, was arrested and charged with the following:
- Felony Murder
- Felony Child Abuse
- Neglect
She is being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
