Lynchburg teen arrested for reportedly stealing firearm

A Lynchburg teenager has been arrested for reportedly stealing a firearm.

Lynchburg Police have been investigating a theft of a firearm from a Lynchburg home. During their investigation they were able to get a search warrant in the 1000 block of Sandusky Drive and then the 600 block of Perrymont Avenue.

Those warrants led them to the missing .223 caliber firearm and 19-year-old Miguel Angel Escobar-Lemus.

Escobar-Lemus was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.

This is an ongoing investigation and officers expect to release more information about this arrest at a later time.
