Lynchburg Police investigating armed robbery

Lynchburg Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery. 

Here is the information from the Lynchburg Police Department:

“On April 7, 2019 at 12:58 am, Lynchburg Police Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Old Courthouse Turnpike for a reported armed robbery. The victims, one male and one female drove to this location to meet an acquaintance. Once there, the suspect exited the woods and produced a firearm. The male victim was beaten and robbed of money. One shot was fired during the incident by the suspect. No one was struck. The suspect is described as a black male, unknown age, with facial hair and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. No further description A vehicle involved is described as a red Dodge Durango that struck the victim’s vehicle as it was leaving. The male victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to the ER. This is believed to be an isolated incident. This investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department.”
