LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department launched an online tool for people to report non-emergency crimes.
Reportable crimes include vandalism, vandalism to a car, theft, and theft from a car, as long as those thefts don’t involve prescription medicine or theft of a fire arm.
“Especially in these times of the coronavirus,” said Department spokesperson Carrie Dungan, “we are trying to be as creative as we can, especially with technology to try and allow our residents and visitors to file reports or provide the information that they need in as many ways as possible.”
Residents who fill out a report are given a number that allows them to track their case through the system.
You should still call 9-1-1 for any emergency reports.
