LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is asking for the community’s help in locating a suspect in a malicious wounding.
Police say it happened in the 2000 block of Langhorne Road on Thursday, Dec. 8 at 7:35 a.m. when 31-year-old Lee’Chelle Shawnise Harvey of Lynchburg became angry over a cab fare. Police say they spoke with the victim of the assault who says Harvey attacked her while she was driving for the Allied Cab Company. The driver reports to LPD that she was able to pull over in the parking lot of Choice Healthcare on Langhorne Road.
Police report that an unknown male witness was able to pull Harvey from the cab, and following this a fight started in the parking lot. The victim received injuries including a bite to the abdomen and a laceration to the hand. LPD says the laceration came from an unknown sharp object. The driver was treated for her injuries at the cab stand.
Lynchburg Police report that Harvey left the area and was traveling on foot in the direction of the McCausland Ridge Apartments. She is also wanted for an unrelated incident on charges including Assault and Battery and Breaking and Entering with Intent to Damage Property.
She is described by police as a black female who is 5’11” tall and weighing approximately 200 pounds.
