LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — For the next few weeks, Lynchburg motorists will run into a temporary lane closure along a section of Old Forest Road.
According to the City of Lynchburg, a southbound portion of Old Forest Road — near the intersection of Old Forest Road and Linkhorne Drive — will be reduced to one lane every day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, April 26 through Friday, May 14, excluding weekends.
City officials say this temporary lane closure will be in place so Shentel crews can perform aerial, trenching, and directional drilling for line installations in the area.
Motorists are asked to expect minor delays, use caution while traveling through the work zone, be alert to the changes in traffic patterns, and obey temporary signage.
Emergency vehicles will reportedly have access at all times.
