LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — For the next few weeks, Lynchburg motorists may need to seek alternate routes because crews are closing the intersection of Eighth Street and Harrison Street on Tuesday.
Starting Tuesday, June 8 and continuing for approximately three weeks, the City of Lynchburg says the intersection will be closed for utility construction through the intersection.
The intersection will be closed to through traffic on Harrison Street, and barricades will be blocking the four-way intersection for the duration of the project.
However, a detour will be in place to direct traffic from Eighth Street to 11th Street.
City officials say emergency vehicles, GLTC buses, and Lynchburg City Schools buses will not have access through the intersection during this project.
