APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Police are investigating after a woman died following a Thursday night crash in Appomattox County.

Virginia State Police say they responded to a single-vehicle crash on Route 460 — about a quarter of a mile west of Iris Lane — just after 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 18.

According to authorities, a 2008 Nissan Maxima was traveling east on Route 460 when it ran off the left side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road, and collided with a tree.

Officials tell WFXR News that the driver of the Nissan — 28-year-old Tierra S. Hubbard of Pamplin — was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene of the crash.

As of Monday, Nov. 22, police say this fatal crash is still under investigation.
