NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — According to authorities, a man is dead and charges are pending after a Monday morning collision in Nelson County.

According to Virginia State Police, troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Craigtown Road (Route 639) and Dowdy Lane (Route 771) shortly before 8 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 15.

Police say a 2008 Ford F450 was traveling north on Craigtown Road and tried to make a left turn onto Dowdy Lane, but collided with a 2004 Toyota Avalon that was heading south on Craigtown Road.

The Toyota had reportedly crested the hill just before hitting the Ford.

The driver of the Toyota — identified by authorities as 33-year-old Boddie R. Williams from Shipman — was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene of the crash.

However, officials say the man driving the Ford — 25-year-old Adelson O. Arriaza Morales of Chesterfield, W.Va. — was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt in the collision.

As of Thursday, Nov. 18, Virginia State Police say this fatal crash investigation is still ongoing and that charges are pending.
