LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Storm drains in Lynchburg will soon be a little more colorful for a good cause.
Lynchburg Water Resources says they are inviting the public to assist them in installing public art on storm drains along Memorial Avenue on Thursday Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. The art will raise awareness about the importance of storm drains in keeping the James River clean.
Water resources says volunteers will meet at the Miller Park Neighborhood Center on the 301 block of Grove Street. No previous art experience is required and stencils will be provided. All youth 15 and under will need to bring an adult with them.
The event is a collaboration between Lynchburg Water Resources, the James River Association, Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, and the Lynchburg Council for Arts and Humanities
They remind everyone to wear comfortable shoes and painting clothes.
