LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The City of Lynchburg’s Community Development Department is set to host a virtual public meeting on Tuesday evening so officials can share information and receive feedback about an intersection modification project at Rivermont and Bedford Avenues.

The virtual meeting — which is set to take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 18 — will feature a presentation followed by an interactive feedback and a Q&A session.

City officials say they are preparing a design for the intersection modifications at Rivermont Avenue and Bedford Avenue (eastern intersection) near the Gospel Community Church and the Exxon Station.

The project is meant to eliminate left turns onto Rivermont Avenue, improving not only vehicular safety, but also pedestrian and bicycle safety, according to the City of Lynchburg.

The study team is looking for input from the public about the overall project and the draft concept drawings.
