CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A driver was injured Sunday evening after a vehicle flipped into a yard in Campbell County, barely missing a nativity scene display.

Members of the Altavista Fire Company say they joined the Campbell County Department Public Safety in responding to a vehicle crash in the 2300 block of Wards Road (Route 29 South) at approximately 6:10 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 12.

According to the fire company, the first units to arrive at the scene found a vehicle on its side off the roadway.

Even though the driver — who was already out of the vehicle when crews arrived — sustained minor injuries, officials say the driver refused transport to the hospital.

The Altavista Fire Company wrote on Facebook that the vehicle overturned into a front yard and came to a stop right next to a nativity scene, emphasizing that “no nativity scenes were destroyed during the incident.”
