AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A detour is in place Wednesday morning following a tractor-trailer crash in Amherst County that has shut down U.S. Route 29.

The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) says all northbound and southbound lanes are closed on U.S. Route 29 near the ramp to U.S. Route 60.

According to VDOT, all traffic is currently being detoured onto Business 29.

While the department has not released an estimate of the delays caused by this crash, VDOT’s online traffic map shows significantly slowed traffic along U.S. Route 29 and Business 29 at this time.
