UPDATE: Five teens, one 20-year-old facing multiple charges after larcenies from Lynchburg vehicles

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Five teenagers and one 20-year-old have been charged with multiple offenses following a series of larcenies from vehicles in Lynchburg early Thursday morning.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, the department received a report of people breaking into vehicles in the area of Peakland Place and Linden Avenue.

When police arrived at the scene, they say they patrolled the area, tracked down four adults and two juveniles, and took them into custody in connection with the incident. 

The department says the six individuals broke into vehicles in the 7600 block of Timberlake Road and Peak Place and have been charged with the following:

  • Cairy Jamal Johnson Jr., 20, of Lynchburg:
    • Four counts of entering or setting into motion a motor vehicle
    • Four counts of petit larceny
    • Three counts of larceny of firearms, not from a person
    • Two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor
  • Kayleb Nicholas Moon-Robinson, 18, of Lynchburg:
    • Four counts of entering or setting into motion a motor vehicle
    • Four counts of petit larceny
    • Three counts of larceny of firearms, not from a person
    • Two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor
  • James Ezekiel Prange, 18, of Lynchburg:
    • Four counts of entering or setting into motion a motor vehicle
    • Four counts of petit larceny
    • Three counts of larceny of firearms, not from a person
    • Two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor
  • Aaron Thomas Yuille, 18, of Gladstone:
    • Four counts of entering or setting into motion a motor vehicle
    • Four counts of petit larceny
    • Three counts of larceny of firearms, not from a person
    • Two counts of contributing to delinquency of a minor
  • Two 17-year-old juveniles:
    • Four counts of entering or setting into motion a motor vehicle
    • Four counts of petit larceny
    • Three counts of larceny of firearms, not from a person
    • One count of Possession of firearm under age 18 

The Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority does not have a mugshot of Cairy Jamal Johnson Jr. from this incident.

This investigation is reportedly still ongoing.

Anyone who may have captured video of these incidents on a security or doorbell camera is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department at (434) 455-6065, share the footage on the Neighbors portal, or share the footage anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
