University of Lynchburg updates mask policy

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The University of Lynchburg has updated its mask policy after Governor Ralph Northam amended Executive Order 72 to update new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on mask use in outdoor settings.

Effective Friday, May 7, students, faculty, staff, and guests will no longer be required to wear masks when outside and maintaining a physical distance of six feet.

Masks will still be required inside all campus buildings, as well as outside at large campus events where physical distancing cannot be maintained.

Masks will be required at all outdoor Commencement events in May.
