UPDATE: Rivermont Avenue reopened in Lynchburg after crash

UPDATE 12:34 p.m.: According to the Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services, the scene of Thursday’s crash has been cleared and the 2900 block of Rivermont Avenue is back open for traffic.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Lynchburg motorists may run into some delays Thursday afternoon due to a crash closing down a section of Rivermont Avenue.

The Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services says all lanes of traffic are shut down in the 2900 block of Rivermont Avenue at this time.

Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes and avoid the area if possible.
