Temporary lane closures in Lynchburg for Shentel work scheduled through December

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Several Shentel projects will lead to numerous lane closures throughout Lynchburg so crews can perform aerial, trenching, and directional drilling work for line installation.

Every day at 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. from now through Monday, Nov. 15, Lynchburg city officials say there will be temporary lane closures at the following locations:

  • Project LCP-040:
    • Carrington Road
    • Langhorne Road
    • Murrel Road
    • Westerly Drive
  • Project LCP-078:
    • Lakeview Drive
    • Leesville Road
    • McVeigh Road
    • Middle Street
    • North Street
    • Woodbine Drive

While some of the planned lane closures are already in effect, additional lane closures will take place from Friday, Oct. 15 through Friday, Dec. 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day:

    • Amherst Street
    • Bedford Avenue
    • Botetourt Street
    • Charlotte Street
    • Clinton Street
    • Dearing Street
    • Deaton Street
    • Denver Street
    • Early Street
    • Easton Avenue
    • Fredonia Avenue
    • Marshall Street
    • Rivermont Avenue
    • Willow Street
    • Yancey Street
  • Project LCP-036
    • Alleghany Avenue
    • Bay Streeet
    • Memorial Avenue
    • Wilton Avenue
  • Project LCP-128
    • Ardmore Circle
    • Ardmore Drive
    • Ashley Drive
    • Craigmont Drive
    • Dandridge Drive
    • Georgetown Drive
    • Milford Lane
    • Standish Circle

While emergency vehicles will have access at all times, motorists can expect minor delays. Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through these work zones, be prepared for changes in traffic patterns, and obey all temporary signage.
