LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Construction to put in a conduit for new traffic lights will likely cause delays for motorists in parts of downtown Lynchburg along 12th Street next week.

The portion of 12th Street between Main and Commerce Streets will be closed to all traffic from Monday, July 26 through Friday, July 30. However, one lane will remain open on Main Street, from 12th Street to the Main Street Renewal Project area on 8th Street.

Traffic will not be allowed downhill to the parking lot and parking spaces on 12th Street. However, the lot and spaces will be accessible via Commerce Street, which means motorists will be allowed to travel uphill for the duration of the work.
