Teen injured, homes and vehicles damaged after overnight shooting in Lynchburg, police say

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — A teenager is injured and several homes and vehicles are damaged after shots were fired along Brook Street in Lynchburg overnight, according to police.

The Lynchburg Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Brook Street at approximately 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 24 for a report of a malicious wounding and shots fired.

When they arrived at the scene, police were notified about a 16-year-old boy who suffered a grazing gunshot wound, but he was reportedly uncooperative.  

In addition, multiple homes and multiple vehicles were hit by gunfire, officials say.

According to the department, witnesses described three males firing weapons and then getting into a black smaller sedan.
