Technical Rescue Team pulls stranded pup to safety from Blackwater Creek area in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Virginia Division 3’s Technical Rescue Team to the rescue! Here’s how the story sets up.

According to the rescue team’s Facebook post from Tuesday, July 20, two people were walking in the area of the Blackwater Creek water system in the Hollins Mill section of Lynchburg when they noticed a dog in distress.

Fast-forward a short time when two rescuers and two officers with Animal Control boarded a raft and paddled over the dog who was safely rescued.

The dog was taken to a nearby vet to receive medical care.
