CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Troopers are piecing together circumstances that led to the death of a Lynchburg woman who was involved in a crash on Sunday afternoon.
State Police say that the crash took place at 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, July 4 on Leesville Road, less than a mile south of Charldon Drive.
According to police, a 2003 Honda Accord was traveling south on Leesville Road when it ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned multiple times.
The driver has been identified as Tabitha F. White, 37, of Lynchburg. She was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle during the crash. She died at the scene.
Virginia State Police say that speed was a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
