LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The end of summer is quickly approaching, but there is still time to make a final splash at the Miller Park Pool in Lynchburg.
The Lynchburg Parks and Recreation Department announced that admission to the pool — which is only open on weekends and Labor Day — will be free beginning on Saturday, Aug. 20 and running through Monday, Sept. 5.
Lynchburg officials say this is the first time in over a decade that they have extended their swim season.
According to the department, free admission at the Miller Park Pool applies during regular pool hours from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.
In addition, officials tell WFXR News there will be a drive-in movie night on Friday, Aug. 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Lynchburg Parks and Recreation thanked the Lynchburg City Council for allowing the department to keep the summer fun going.
