Six people in custody following larcenies from Lynchburg vehicles overnight, police say

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg have taken six people into custody after a series of larcenies from vehicles overnight. 

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, shortly after 4:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 22, the department received a report of people breaking into vehicles in the area of Peakland Place and Linden Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they patrolled the area, tracked down four adults and two juveniles, and took them into custody in connection with the incident. 

Anyone who may have captured video of these incidents on a security or doorbell camera is asked to contact the Lynchburg Police Department at (434) 455-6065, share the footage on the Neighbors portal, or share the footage anonymously through Crime Stoppers. 

If you may have been a victim of a larceny from a vehicle last night, or if you may have information about these incidents, you are asked to call Detective Campbell at (434) 485-7267 or Crime Stoppers at (888) 798-5900.
