Lynchburg & Central Virginia News

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department and the Southwest Regional Crime Prevention Association are teaming up to sponsor a shred-a-thon on Saturday.

The shredding event is set to take place on Saturday, May 22 between 10 a.m. and noon at E.C. Glass High School’s parking lot at 2111 Memorial Avenue.

Organizers hope community members will use this opportunity to prevent identity theft and fraud by shredding old personal, medical, and financial records.

The event is free; however, anyone planning to attend will be limited to three bags or boxes per vehicle.
