LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Due to a crane being delivered, the 800 block of Main Street in Lynchburg will be shut down on Saturday.

The temporary closure is expected to last all day as exterior repairs are made to the Bank of the James building in downtown.

No on-street parking will be available between Eighth and Ninth Streets with “No Parking” signs expected to be posted on Friday alerting downtown drivers of the closure.

Lynchburg Police will have an officer at the location starting at 6 a.m. ensuring no vehicles are in the 800 block during crane operations.

Detour signs will be posted and motorists will need to obey all parking signage and emergency vehicles will not have access to the area while work is being performed.
