RUSTBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Rustburg High School’s Volleyball Team can claim the title of “state champions,” after an undefeated season.

To celebrate the honor, the town of Rustburg will be holding a parade for the team’s accomplishments on Sunday, May 2 at 3 p.m.

The parade route will begin at Rustburg Elementary School and will continue to the former Wells Fargo on Village Highway.

Campbell County deputies and the Campbell County Department of Public Safety will be on-hand to ensure public safety and traffic control.

“We’ve faced a lot over this past year, not even knowing if we were going to have sports. To go undefeated and win the state championship, it’s so good to have that hope and that happiness.”

Kristen Hardie, Rustburg High School volleyball coach

The entire community is encouraged to join our celebration to commemorate the team’s win.

Officials urge everyone to gather along sidewalks in the village — with proper COVID-19 protocols — and congratulate the team as they caravan down Village Highway.
