UPDATE 12:21 p.m. (7/27/21): The Concord Volunteer Fire Department shared more information about Monday’s multi-vehicle crash along Route 460 in Campbell County that resulted in several injuries.

According to the department, crews were dispatched on Monday, July 26 for a three-vehicle crash with possible entrapment.

Even though the first units to arrive at the scene determined nobody was trapped inside the vehicles, fire officials say multiple people were injured and brought to the ER.


UPDATE 6:50 p.m.: Route 460 is fully open after an earlier crash near Concord.

All lanes of traffic are again flowing.


UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Route 460 has partially reopened in Campbell County.

WFXR News’ Amanda Lee is on-scene and says that one lane has reopened in each direction near the scene of a crash not far from Concord.

Drivers can still expect delays if traveling in this area.


CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Drivers on Route 460 east of Lynchburg are stuck in traffic.

All eastbound and westbound lanes are shut down in the area around Concord.

WFXR News has not been able to confirm the specific cause of the backup but drivers heading in that direction are being urged to find another route.
