BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – Weather-permitting, a new traffic pattern will set up this month along the S-curves on Route 460 near Montvale.

According to VDOT, the plan is to move eastbound traffic into the newly constructed outside eastbound lane to improve safety by permanently eliminating the S-curves in the area.

Route 460 westbound will continue to be reduced to one lane with a median barrier in place.

An exact date for this has not been announced; however, VDOT says this is expected to take place in mid-January.

Also, Route 726 (Wilkerson Mill Road) at the intersection with Route 460 will be closed.

Drivers will be detoured to use Route 692 Quarterwood Road to access Route 460.

This change will affect Misty Ridge residents.
