LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The 100 Mile Yard Sale is happening this weekend.
The tremendous event stretches along Route 29. Local and out-of-state vendors are lined up from Danville to Amherst County.
The event typically draws thousands of visitors. The 100 Mile Yard Sale offers crafts, antiques, baked goods, and countless other items.
“There’s different vendors here with different things, some people have some collectible items. There’s some people here with some antiques,” said Dan Hochberg, a vendor from Charlotte, NC.
Some stops along Route 29 benefit local organizations. WFXR News stopped by the Altavista Trade Lot where proceeds go toward the Altavista Middle and High School bands.
“The more we raise, the less kids have to pay for band dues, and that just helps him out so that everybody whether rich or poor can’t participate in band, and then that way they all have a good equal experience,” said Andrew Hicks, the Vice President of the Altavista Band-Boosters and manager of the Altavista Trade Lot.
This year’s yard sale will wrap up on Sunday, May 2. To see a map with all the yard sale stops, click here.
