UPDATE: Crash on Route 24 in Campbell County has been cleared

UPDATE 7:00 p.m.: The crash on Route 24 near Rustburg has been cleared.


UPDATE 4:25 p.m.: A section of Route 24 continues to be closed due to a crash.

VDOT says that eastbound Route 24 in Rustburg is closed in the vicinity of Red House Road (Route 615).

Flaggers are directing traffic using the westbound lanes, so westbound traffic will also see delays in this area.


UPDATE 1:24 p.m.: VDOT says the westbound lanes of Route 24 have been reopened in Campbell County, but the eastbound lanes are still closed near Red House Road due to a crash and downed power lines.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — State Route 24 (VA-24) has been blocked off Wednesday due to a vehicle crash and downed power lines in Campbell County.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), all eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 24 are closed near Red House Road and Route 615 at this time.

Motorists are asked to seek an alternate route.

There is no word on the extent of the delays resulting from this crash at this time.
