LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Construction is slated to begin on Monday, Aug. 2 in the 1100 block of Main St. between 11th and 12th streets and at the intersection of Main and 12th streets.

The road will be close to all through traffic as crews install the Arrival Pad which is part of the Main Street Renewal Project in Lynchburg. This multi-million dollar project will replace aging waterlines, update certain sanitary and storm systems and provide a foundation for future development.

Crews are in the final step of the project that is scheduled to be completed in October. Drivers can expect to follow a detour route through the end of September when the road closure is expected to be lifted.
