LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Santa Claus is coming to town! In order to give guests some one-on-one time with Ol’ Saint Nick this holiday season, the River Ridge Mall is offering a contactless, in-person experience with extra safety protocols.
In order to avoid overcrowding, the mall will use a reservation system. In addition, guests, staff, and even Santa will be required to wear face coverings, and the mall will have hand sanitizer in high traffic areas and social distancing graphics on the floor to designate where guests should stand while waiting
Even though guests will not be allowed to sit on Santa’s lap or give him a hug this year, he will still be in photos — from a safe distance, of course — and ready to converse with the kids about their Christmas wishes.
In addition, the River Ridge Mall says every child who stops by to see Santa next to Mission House Coffee and GNC will receive a “HO HO HO” or “Make It Merry” mask while supplies last.
Santa is available for photos from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 6 p.m. on Sundays until Christmas Eve, when he will only be available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Even though walk-up visits will be available in the first and last hour of the day and whenever time allows, guests are are encouraged to make reservations to visit Santa in advance.
All you need to do is follow this link, enter the name of your mall, click on a date, and select a 15-minute window for your visit. You can also use the link for information on professional photo packages for your visit with Santa.
