Police search for ‘several men’ seen in area of Sandusky Park in Lynchburg after Saturday night shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are working to piece together the details that led to a shooting Saturday night at Sandusky Park.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to the park shortly after 10 p.m. on Saturday, July 31 for a report of shots fired and a malicious wounding.

When police arrived, they found one woman who had been shot. She was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital with what were said to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say they are looking to identify several men who were seen leaving the area on foot toward the main entrance of Sandusky Park.
