UPDATE 12:53 p.m.: The Lynchburg Police Department has shared additional information about Wednesday morning’s shooting on Chambers Street that sent a man to the hospital.
According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Chambers Street shortly at approximately 9:12 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 13 after a man was reportedly shot.
When police arrived on scene, they found one man with a serious gunshot injury. He was then transported to Lynchburg General Hospital.
The department says officers took a man into custody at 9:19 a.m. in connection with the shooting at the intersection of Lovell Street and Chambers Street.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department has launched an investigation into a shooting that occurred along Chambers Street on Wednesday.
There is no word on whether anyone was injured or arrested in connection with this shooting.
However, WFXR News has a crew at the scene that observed a number of shell casings and a bloody hat on the road in the 200 block of Chambers Street.
