Police investigating after 21 copper downspouts reported stolen from Lynchburg church

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police are investigating after more than 20 copper downspouts were reported stolen from a Lynchburg church over the weekend.

The Lynchburg Police Department says Fairview Christian Church on Campbell Avenue reported the theft of 21 copper downspouts from the church’s exterior on Saturday, Feb. 13.

According to police, the pipes are approximately four inches in diameter and range from 10 to 35 feet in length.

The theft is believed to have occurred between December 2020 and February 2021, the department says.
