Police investigate Saturday night shooting at James Crossing Apartments in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Police in Lynchburg are investigating a malicious wounding at James Crossing Apartments from Saturday night.

The Lynchburg Police Department says officers responded to the apartments at the 1500 block of Longview Road for a report of shots fired shortly after 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 1.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, who was then taken to Lynchburg General Hospital.

As the investigation into the shooting continued, officers also located several vehicles that had been shot during the incident, according to the department.

This is the second shooting that occurred in James Crossing Apartments within two weeks, following a homicide that happened nearby in late April.
