Police investigate after 911 callers report hearing around 50 shots fired Sunday morning in downtown Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are investigating a shooting that took place early Sunday morning.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to the parking lot between Greenhaus and Main Street Sports Bar and Grill just after 1:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24 for a report of shots fired.

Callers who contacted police reportedly heard around 50 shots.

When police arrived at the scene, they collected multiple bullet casings.

No injuries were reported and no damage to property was found.

As of this writing, police are still searching for those responsible since nobody has been taken into custody in connection with the incident.
