Parking enforcement to resume within Main Street Renewal Project area in Lynchburg

Lynchburg & Central Virginia News

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Parking enforcement operations will resume within the Main Street Renewal Project area in Lynchburg on Feb. 1.

The following locations will be impacted:

  • 800 block of Main Street (between Eighth and Ninth Streets)
  • 10th Street (between Main and Church Streets)

At the beginning of the project, on-street parking was eliminated to allow contractors to install utility and streetscape amenities. As there areas and blocks open to normal traffic, parking enforcement operations will begin to resume.

Free two-hour parking is still available on the top level of the Midtown Parking Deck (entrance is in the 900 block of Main Street). Motorists are reminded to register their space number at the kiosk to receive the free two-hour parking.

Completion of the Main Street Renewal Project is scheduled for summer 2021. For more information, visit the project website at www.RenewLYH.com.
