FOREST, Va. (WFXR) — One person was hospitalized with burn injuries after Forest first responders were dispatched to a fiery crash scene over the weekend.

The Forest Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook shortly before 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, that crews were dispatched to Wyatts Way for a vehicle that crashed into a tree and caught on fire with at least one person trapped inside.

When first responders arrived on scene, the department says they found one person lying in the road with a single vehicle fully involved in flames.

According to fire officials, one person was brought to a local hospital with first and second degree burns.

“Special thanks to the bystanders responsible for removing the individual from the burning vehicle,” the Forest Volunteer Fire Department said.
