LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — NAPA Auto Parts has found a new home for a NAPA Mega Store that will not only relocate and combine two stores in Lynchburg, but also expand the company’s offerings.
According to a company spokesperson, the Fort Hill Shopping Center in Lynchburg has secured a 16,000-square-foot lease at 6,015 Fort Avenue that will house the new NAPA Mega Store.
The mega store is set to open in early May after the company consolidates two different NAPA stores that are currently located at 21088 Timberlake Road and 2599 Fort Avenue.
NAPA reportedly has more than 500,000 items in its inventory — including automotive replacement parts, refinishing supplies, automotive accessories, farm and marine supplies, tools, equipment, and heavy-duty parts — many of which will be provided at the new Lynchburg mega store.
“It just made sense for us to move our two Lynchburg stores into one large location,” said Wiley Fogleman, general manager of NAPA’s Lynchburg stores. “Fort Hill Shopping Center is so centrally located and easily accessible to all the main thoroughfares. The move helps us by providing a great space for our staff and customers.”
Officials tell WFXR News that LU Plaza Holdings, LLC, the owners of Fort Hill Shopping Center, bought the property in 2016 and have invested in it significantly since then. As a result, the addition of NAPA’s Mega Store not only serves as a perfect fit for their business, but it will also continue efforts to make the center a destination for both businesses and customers.
“We began our relationship with NAPA by discussing how much space the company would need for its growth and relocation of two existing stores,” said June Smith, principal broker and owner of Legacy Realty and Development, whose firm leases Fort Hill Shopping Center. “Following our conversation, we identified a property that made perfect sense for NAPA but will also benefit the current center and drive more traffic to everyone there.”
