Movies in the Park showing first of three feature films in Lynchburg on Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Movie-goers can rejoice because, starting in late August, Movies in the Park is back in Lynchburg over the next few months!

Lynchburg Parks and Recreation lined up three movies for the fall season. You can see the movie lineup below.

“Mamma Mia”Lynchburg City StadiumSept. 18
“Coco”Riverside ParkOct. 22

If you are planning to attend one of these movies, seating begins at 6 p.m., and then showtime is at sunset around 8 p.m. Food trucks will be available selling popcorn and other food.

On top of that, prior to the showing of “The Lion King” on Friday, Aug. 27, there will be a performance from the Kuumba Dance Ensemble at 7:30 p.m.

VIP sections will also be offered for the event with a limit of 10 people per group. The VIP section will have its own private front row section blocked off on the field. It costs $50 per section, but includes a reserved section for up to 10 family and friends, free popcorn, and water delivered to your seats.
