UPDATE 7:39 a.m.: Crews are still working to restore power to the 539 Bedford County customers impacted by Wednesday morning’s Appalachian Power outages, but now more than 150 Roanoke City residents are reporting outages of their own.
As of 7:28 a.m. on Wednesday, Appalachian Power is reporting 156 customer outages in Roanoke City due to two outage cases. However, 151 of those customers can be attributed to a single outage in the southern part of the city.
Officials estimate power will be restored to those Roanoke customers by 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, but did not offer an explanation for the outage.
BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — More than 500 Bedford County residents are without power Wednesday morning due to several outages around the county.
As of 5:58 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 20, Appalachian Power says 539 customers in Bedford County are without power due to three outages reported between 3:58 and 5:08 a.m.
According to Appalachian Power’s outage map, crews are expected to restore power to the customers impacted between 10 and 11:30 a.m.
However, Appalachian Power did not provide a cause for any of these outages.
