LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — As the weather gets warmer, it’s time to cool off at the pool. The Lynchburg Parks and Rec Department announced Miller Park Pool will open on May 29.

The facility will only be open on the weekends until June 11 and then it will be open daily until August 6. It will then return to a weekends-only schedule until September 4.

The pool will be open from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. throughout the summer season. Residents can purchase daily passes, 10-visit passes, or an entire season pass for the whole family.

Mark your calendars! Here is a list of special events happening at Miller Park Pool throughout the summer:

  • Let’s Glow Crazy — Aug. 12 from 7-10 p.m.
  • Dive-In Movie — Aug. 18 from 6:30-9:45 p.m.
  • Cardboard Boat Race — Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
  • Paws in the Pool — Sept. 9
