Man wanted for failure to appear on abduction, assault charges in Campbell County now in custody

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Campbell County Sheriff’s Office notified the community on Wednesday that a man wanted for multiple charges is now in custody.

According to authorities, Joel Cory White of Evington was wanted for failure to appear on charges of abduction, and assault and battery of a family member.

The sheriff’s office says he ran away from deputies on March 11 when they approached him near the Sprint Store on Timberlake Road.

“We wish to thank those members of the public who shared this post, as well as for the tips received, and the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office VA for their assistance in the apprehension of this wanted person,” the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 7.
