LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Jeffrey Elliott Kincaid, convicted of 46 counts of possessing child pornography, was sentenced in Lynchburg Circuit Court this week.
On Wednesday, Dec. 2, Judge F. Patrick Yeatts sentenced Kincaid to 46 years in prison, with 20 years to serve. In addition, the judge imposed 30 months of supervised probation and 25 years of good behavior.
The 57-year-old had previously plead guilty to 47 child porn related charges.
Kincaid was arrested in January of 2018 after the Lynchburg Police Department’s Forensics Unit
received a CyberTip from the Southern Virginia ICAC Task Force about a post, which was traced to Kincaid’s IP address at his Lynchburg home.
“The tip stated that a picture of a female, nude from the waist down, was posted on a message board site. The post had a caption describing the girl as the seventeen-year-old daughter of the author of the post, and detailed sexual abuse that the author allegedly perpetrated on the girl while she was unconscious.”
Bethany Harrison, Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Lynchburg
According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Bethany Harrison, Detective Kevin Poindexter obtained a search warrant for Kincaid’s residence. Kincaid reportedly said he posted the image on the message board while intoxicated, adding that the caption was false and the girl in the photo was actually 19.
Harrison says Poindexter found more than 5,000 images of child sexual abuse — many of which depicted children approximately 6 to 8 years old — after only 20 percent of the storage space was analyzed on electronic devices seized during a search of Kincaid’s Lynchburg home.
